Google Chrome has widened its lead over Naver in South Korea's mobile search and browser market, ranking first in usage time for the fifth consecutive month.
Chrome logged 260 million hours of usage in September, outpacing Naver's 240 million hours, according to mobile app analytics firm Wiseapp Retail. Chrome has held the top spot since it first overtook Naver in May.
Samsung Internet ranked third with 130 million hours. Together, the three apps accounted for 630 million hours, or about 80 percent of total usage time among the 10 most-used search and browser apps.
Google's search app came fourth with 87 million hours, followed by Brave with 38 million hours and Daum with 23 million hours.
Whale recorded 5.7 million hours, while Nate and Firefox each logged 3.5 million hours. Microsoft Edge rounded out the top 10 with 1.8 million hours.
The estimates were based on Wiseapp Retail's statistical analysis of a panel representing 51.39 million smartphone users in Korea, including 36.7 million Android users and 14.69 million iOS users.
